Position Overview
As a Service Operations Support Manager in Training, you will play a critical role in supporting operational excellence and associate development within CarMax’s Service Operations Department. This position partners closely with the Operations Manager to lead teams, maintain inventory, and ensure smooth execution of service functions. You will help drive performance, foster a positive associate and customer experience, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Role Responsibilities
- Lead and manage associates to achieve production targets and maintain accurate inventory levels
- Provide coaching and feedback through formal and informal observations to support associate development
- Participate in hiring and training processes to build a strong, high-performing team
- Monitor and maintain key performance measures to ensure operational success
- Execute continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally, delivering exceptional service
- Responsible for the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) program for your department and/or location, including but not limited to self-inspections, hazardous waste disposal, workplace safety, and PPE.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Ability to lead teams to achieve production goals and maintain operational standards
- Skilled in reading, interpreting, and maintaining accurate data records
- Strong multi-tasking abilities in a dynamic work setting
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for customer and associate interactions
- Proficiency in common and proprietary software systems
- Ability to work in indoor/outdoor environments, including noisy or inclement conditions, with flexible scheduling (nights, weekends, holidays) and occasional travel
